I grew up on
cartoons. Lots of them! I also spent endless hours with Legos
& Play-Doh, then chasing my little brother around the house
to get my Legos & Play-Doh back.
Our home
life was pretty artsy with our eclectic group of neighbors, home-made
furniture and a huge Peter
Max painting right on the wall.
One time we adopted a cute little
chicken from Tijuana, then it grew up into a big noisy rooster with a
bad sense of time (not to mention his digestive habits, yuck!). Then we
had a big brown rabbit named Murphy who thought he was a dog and roamed
the neighborhood whenever and wherever he pleased.
My
most memorable pet was our cat named Alice who adopted us. She
was
half Siamese, half grumpy and was my best friend.

She
loved to hide in
the bushes and attack our ankles when we walked by. We also had frogs,
mice, ducks, fish, hamsters and lizards....but not all at the same time!
I spent
a lot of time in the clubhouse my dad made for me. It had a Suzy Homemaker Oven, a working sink
made out
of plastic milk jugs and a breakfast nook, complete with stools and a
big window. My best
friend and I were Co-Presidents of the club and my little brother was
just a plain member. He didn't like to come to our meetings. His
name is Matt, just like in the book I wrote.
Now I'm
a mom. My family and I live in Ogden, Utah and have two cats, one
dog, a fish and normal paintings on our walls.
My
favorite things to do are writing & painting kids books, watching
my favorite shows on tv with a big bowl of popcorn, and of course,
being my daughter's mom. My favorite season is winter and my dream is
to someday live in the snow (in a house of course you silly!) on
the coast near a big University....
